Final Renders! The building fights back!

Finally we had completed our style and the effects of our lights. Here are the results.

Effects of the lights, discovered!

We finally figured out how we wanted our lights to affect the building. In these early reference photos there are a ton of oddly placed concrete cylinders on the ground. We didn't know what use they had but we liked them. We finally decided that we would add elements to our building that would react, bend, and warp as the lights flew throughout the house. You could almost say the house was fighting back.

Playing with our lights

Here we began working on the look and feel of our lights, as well as how the lights would interact with the environment.

Time to begin work

We wanted to base the inside of our building on 2 of the reference photos.

Initial modelings:

Energy references

Finally we found a good reference for how we wanted our tendrils of energy to look.

Reference is key!!!

It was important to find reference to bring solidarity to our ideas. In our initial sketches we had machine ideas, but we wanted to stray from what everyone else was doing and just focus on the energy the machine emits rather than the machine itself. Here are some reference photos of how we wanted our environment to look, as well as early machine ideas (before we trashed that thought).

Pre Viz Concepts and Ideas

The original concept of this project centered around having some sort of energy interact with a run down destroyed building. We didn't know what it would look like or what the energy would look like, but here are some pre viz sketch ideas.
